Epic books!
Is another resource that could be used for multiple variations of reading. There are reading levels, genres, audio books, read to me books, and graphic novels. This site could be used many ways. It could be used in the classroom and at home to help encourage children to read while using technology.
How To Use Epic!
In the classroom children can use this app for silent reading time, lunch hour, body break including incportaing it into a future lesson through out the day and make it a fun interactive activity for students.
Ways to utilize this reading platform is for reading in and outside of the classroom. For inside the classroom find an audio book that all children like and play it during a break time like snack. it can be a great transition tool to focus and redirect students to a new lesson by reading the book outload to the class.
Using Epic Outside of the Classroom
Epic Books can be used at home as well. One of the ways families can use the app and or website at home by reading it to their children before bed. or have the app downloaded to a device for the children to listen to the stories and video on the website. This is one more way to encourage reading and listening skills at home.
This is a great resource for families to get their children motivated about reading or listening to books. This app can help with language barriers as well if the family is learning different languages. The parents or guardians can still help the child because of the different functions of the platform. There is a read to me function, and audiobook section, and reading level section to help guide the student and let the parents know what their child needs to work on at home to help with there reading and ability to focus.
